ARCELLA
Snapshots from a multicultural neighborhood.

Arcella is a neighbourhood in Padua, a city in northern Italy. It is a multicultural area
where integration between ethnic groups is often labelled “difficult”. In 2018 there are approximately 34,000 residents (i.e. 16% of the entire population of Padua) and approximately 27% of the total
are foreign (mainly from Eastern Europe, Nigeria, Morocco and China). Embracing the immediate and spontaneous approach both of street
photography, environmental and portrait photography, I have tried to explore and capture the humanity of the people living in that area. These pictures are part of the collective project is “SìAmo
Arcella”. The documentary “Enjoy the Light” filmed about our project by Lisa Marinetto won the Next Movie Station+ prize in 2017.
Pictures from 2017-2018.
